DRP Group Case Study
The DRP Group have built a reputation on innovation and believe they have found a kindred spirit in the SECC.
CEO, Dale Parmenter, founded the group in 1980, which now has 178 employees working across a variety of disciplines including event management, video production and digital communications.
DRP has held several events at the SECC in recent years including two for a major bank, an association conference and the Federation of Small Businesses conference in March 2016.
Dale says, "The staff at the SECC are an exceptional bunch of people for whom nothing is too much trouble.
“I remember one particularly complex opening ceremony where we started with a very modest stage and screen that eventually revealed a gigantic projection and stage set. We like to push the envelope, but the SECC’s technical team were right there with us, revelling every bit as much in the Wow factor as we did.
“I’ve always found the staff at the venue to be extremely helpful and friendly, which makes our job that much easier.”
“Team Glasgow are brilliant”
Though they are based in London and the Midlands, DRP find it really easy to do business in Glasgow.
Dale continues, “Distance has never been an issue. We use video conferencing and conference calls to keep in touch and the SECC’s location – just 15 minutes from Glasgow airport – means I can jump on a plane for a site visit whenever necessary.”
He concludes, "The Team Glasgow approach is unique and the coordination between all the agencies across the city is brilliant.
“You get the feeling that the whole city is working together to make your event a success, whether it’s finding affordable accommodation or getting permission for fireworks over the Clyde. A lot of other cities could take note.”
