We are delighted to present an exciting opportunity for a Sound/AV Technician to join our Technical and Production department, in line with our vision of becoming the Best Event Campus in Europe.
Our Technical team work closely together in a busy environment, ensuring that all expectations are exceeded by providing the highest quality services to each event.
This position is vital to our commitment of delivering first class production experiences within the Conference and Exhibition Sector. Technical expertise and dedication is paramount as this job will be continually focussed on exceeding client expectations, providing services to a wide range of events, including conferences, concerts, corporate meetings, and more.
Duties will be spread across the various elements of AV delivery - video, lighting, Sound, and conference streaming services are all within remit. There will be a particular emphasis on AV delivery and a focus on how to improve SEC performance in this area.
Key duties will include:
- Working as a technician at allocated events.
- The setup, operation, and maintenance of conference sound and AV equipment across various meeting spaces and auditoria.
- Collaborate with clients and event organisers to understand their requirements and execute accordingly.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide on-the-spot solutions during events.
- Assist with equipment inventory management and organisation.
- Uphold safety protocols and adhere to health and safety regulations.
- To Maintain the Audio-Visual Services and facilities of the SEC by working to a planned preventative maintenance program.
- To supervise the work of the freelance and contractor technical staff, ensuring that they are instructed appropriately and that their work is of the highest standard.
You will be required to fulfil (22 hours per week) up to 37 hours over a 7-day week. We have a competitive overtime rate for any additional work undertaken over the 37hr per week.

Desirable Experience:
- Proven experience as Sound Technician in live events, entertainment, or related fields.
- Proficiency with AV/sound integration, cabling protocols and cable management.
- Basics of Dante Networking
- Strong knowledge of vMix and principles of hybrid meetings.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
- A passion for the role and a creative mindset.
- Experience building large meeting spaces with the associated equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal training or certifications in health and safety practises.
- MEWP license
