We’re looking for a motivated and friendly Sales and Business Development Manager to work as part of our Conference team and in line with our vision to become the Best Event Campus in Europe.
Job Summary:
The Sales and Business Development Manager (Conference Sales) is responsible for driving revenue growth by selling the Scottish Event Campus conference product, meeting spaces, and related services to conference and event planners. This role requires a strategic approach to identifying and cultivating relationships with potential clients, understanding their needs, and delivering tailored solutions that ensure successful conferences and events.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Execution
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales plan to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
- Identify new business opportunities and generate leads through various channels, including networking, sales calls, email campaigns, and attending industry events. This will involve regular travel to international destinations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and potential clients' needs.
- Be an outstanding brand ambassador.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Understand clients' requirements and provide tailored solutions to meet their conference and event needs.
- Conducted site visits and presented venue facilities and services to prospective clients.
- Prepare sales presentations and proposals for clients.
- Negotiate contracts and close sales deals.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with internal teams such as marketing, operations, and catering.
- Coordinate with the event planning team to ensure all client specifications are met and exceeded.
- Provide regular feedback to the Director of Sales, Head of Association Sales, and other relevant departments on client needs, potential improvements, and market trends.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and market analyses to shape sales activity.
- Track sales performance metrics.
- Maintain an up-to-date CRM system with detailed records of client interactions and sales activities.

Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, preferably in conference or event sales.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
