The Scottish Event Campus (SEC) - comprising the SEC Centre, SEC Armadillo and The OVO Hydro - is Scotland's premier venue for live entertainment, conferences and exhibitions, enjoying an enviable reputation as one of Europe’s most prestigious event destinations.

We are delighted to present an exciting opportunity for an experienced Rigging Manager to join our Technical and Production department, in line with our vision of becoming the Best Event Campus in Europe.

Our team work closely together in a busy environment, ensuring that all expectations are exceeded by providing the highest quality service to each event.  The Rigging Manager will be a key post within our expanding production team, ensuing excellence in rigging services across all sectors of our business.

Key duties will include:

  • To plan, develop and deliver safe and effective rigging solutions that match individual client, contractor and internal requirements.
  • To actively engage in the installation and removal of event rigging.
  • To ensure all rigging assets are properly maintained, in safe working order and compliant with LOLER regulations, by implementing a planned preventative maintenance, compliance and inspection programme. 
  • To support senior managers in effective budget management, seeking suitable opportunities for revenue generation within rigging services.
  • To supervise the operations of 3rd Party rigging contractors, ensuring compliance with technical standards, health and safety regulations and SEC protocols.
  • To plan and execute a strategic pathway for departmental development, proactively developing SEC rigging service delivery.
  • To provide CAD drawing support for rigging enquires from clients and colleagues.

Our ideal candidate is hands-on, passionate and flexible and will be fully engaged in our high-performance culture. They will be a suitably qualified event rigger with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the legislation, protocols and best practise that govern the safe operation of rigging in venues

They will have experience of managing teams and third-party contractors, bring a positive attitude and be driven to deliver seminal, life affirming event experiences. 

They will have excellent people skills and be an effective communicator, used to working with an array of clients in a range of challenging environments.

Essential qualifications include an NRC level 2 qualification (level 3 desirable)  and valid IPAF licence.
