Comprising of the SEC Centre, SEC Armadillo and the OVO Hydro, the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) is Scotland's premier venue for events, gigs, conferences, and exhibitions. We enjoy an enviable reputation as one of Europe’s most prestigious venues with the OVO Hydro consistently ranked in the top 3 busiest venues in the world, attracting over 2 million visitors per year.

 

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and friendly Event Manager to work as part of our Event Management team, in line with our vision to become the Best Event Campus in Europe.

 

The Event Manager is responsible for:

 

  • Leading the event by managing all aspects of event planning and delivery, budgetary control and venue management.
  •  Achieving a consistent approach for each event, in all relevant aspects of safety and compliance throughout event planning and delivery, including build/breakdown arrangements, policies, procedures, security and traffic management plans.
  • Responsible for the proactive cost management and budget process for events, including identifying efficiencies and margin improvements.
  • Prepare the event safety structures for events through collaborating with the event safety and security team and the health & safety team.
  • Participating in incident response training, testing and exercising.
  • Be proactive in identifying and resolving health and safety risks associated with event delivery, whilst actioning and reporting them in the appropriate manner.
  • Collaborate with the Experience team to ensure customer service is at the forefront of all events.

Are you looking for your next challenge and have:

  • A degree (or similar qualification) in Event Management, Tourism Management or Business Management.
  • Minimum 3 years previous experience in a similar environment.
  • Event industry knowledge.
  • Strong communication and customer management.
  • A proactive team player.
  • Outstanding time management, attention to detail and can match and exceed deadlines.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages.

  • Flexible, to work evenings and weekends – it’s events after all!
